30th ANNIVERSARY OF THE FALL OF SAIGON
April 30, 2005

"...America's involvement in Vietnam came to an end on April 30, 1975 when the last marines were evacuated from the embassy roof and the incoming North Vietnamese Army smashed through the gates of the Independence Palace..." (BBC News)

Several events at Yale and in New haven during the last weeks of April have been scheduled in recognition of this anniversary. Some of these presentations focus on Vietnam, both historical and present-day, while others will examine the events of April 30, 1975 through records, photographs and personal memory.
