Associate Secretary
Carolyn V. Claflin
Carolyn Claflin joined the Office of the Secretary in 2011. In her position as Associate Secretary and Director of Finance and Administration, she has financial and operational oversight for the departments in the Secretary’s division, as well as other special assignments.
Prior to her appointment with the Office of the Secretary, she served as Deputy Executive Director of the Association of Yale Alumni, where she had budget and administrative oversight of the department and was responsible for a number of functional units including educational travel, IT, Graduate School alumni relations, and Yale College Classes. Between 1984 and 2003, Claflin worked in the Yale University Library system, ultimately serving as Director of Library Development. She received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and in Humanities from Providence College and attended the Université de Fribourg.
