Off Campus Resources

If you are new to the area, we hope you will find time to enjoy the resources of both the University and the City of New Haven. Your workplace on campus is right in the middle of this vital, bustling city. The City and Yale offer the kind of diverse cultural opportunities you would expect to find in a vibrant urban university community, including restaurants, theaters, museums and galleries, and boutiques.

Yale is home to the best and brightest staff and faculty as well as students. The University strives to employ those who value ethical practice. We expect all employees to participate in campus activities and perform their jobs in a way that helps to enrich the working environment for everyone. We value these traditions and diligently seek to protect our campus and coworkers from employee behavior that may compromise these traditions.

Campus safety is a major responsibility of the University Police Department and the Department of University Security Programs. The University Police Department, with over 70 sworn officers, provides the kind of police services typically found in all urban communities. The Department of University Security Programs, with a staff of 80 security officers, is responsible for the physical security of Yale’s buildings, including residence halls and administrative buildings.

In order to help make your involvement in the Yale community safe and enjoyable, the University offers a variety of programs and services. We encourage you to become familiar with these security measures and to help us maintain a safe campus environment.

We ask your help in keeping our campus safe.
