I believe in SeLF's ability to create a dialogue on issues that we think about, but don't necessarily talk about and to foster a more inclusive and understanding community at Yale. I am a sociology major and am interested in government and studying the underrepresentation of groups like women, people of color, and people in the LGBTQ community in office. My favorite scent is the smell of summer rain and I often have cravings for dosas.

All about that SeLF love. I am a MB&B major from Kingston, Jamaica, and I care deeply about creating dialogues on the spectrums of gender and sexuality. SeLF has been an incredible platform to learn and grow in my time at Yale. This experience allows students to engage one another in safe spaces in order to destigmatize conversations around sexuality and create a more positive sexual climate. Through SeLF, I have been able to discuss the intersections of queer identity, sexuality, gender, race, ethnicity, and privilege. I have also met and bonded with some of the most spectacular people. In addition to SeLF, I was involved in Yale oSTEM, Camp Kesem, and HAVEN Free Clinic. I really love to talk about food and health, especially sustainable community gardening, local farming, and nutrition.

After participating in a SeLF discussion group the first semester of my freshman year, I really cherished the vulnerability created by open dialogue. I firmly believe that Yale needs more vulnerability, and thinks SeLF organically fosters a sea change in the way Yale students conceptualize sex; hopefully as a more honest interaction. I absolutely cannot tolerate the taste of cilantro, and have a deep affection for most cat-related things.

I will gladly challenge you to a hot wing eating contest; I once bought an earl grey-flavored condom in Amsterdam (but never tasted it myself); and I am interested in how environmental issues interact with and affect marginalized identities. I love SeLF because it has provided a venue to explore important personal intersectional identities in a safe and affirming space.

I love SeLF! It is a safe, beautiful space that allows me to open up and better understand my own feelings, wants, and desires. When I am not talking about sexuality, gender fluidity, self pleasure, or menstruation, I write for the Yale Daily News about anything having to do with Science. As a Pre-Med, English Major, I love anything having to do with the intersection between arts and sciences. Basically, I want to live in the Peabody.
