Yale Society of Physics Students

Be a physics major!
Or be an applied physics major!
Or an astrophysics major!
Or just take an active interest in physics.

Of course, people who "take an active interest in physics" range from Stephen Hawking all the way to people who just read his books. Or maybe all the way to people who saw the ads for his TV special. Or whatever. Anyway, the physics department offers a really great major, great faculty, great students, great community. And yes, reassure your mother, physics majors do very well in the real world. So how do you join SPS? We have no formal membership. Just send your email address to sps@yale.edu, and we will add you to our list. You'll then be receiving info about our pizza meetings and any other events we hold. But if you are really into Physics and want to join a fully professional society of physicists, consider joining the American Physical Society (APS). There are online forms at the APS website - http://www.aps.org/memb/joinaps.html. For the many benefits of membership into APS, check out their membership benefits page - http://www.aps.org/memb/guide/prbook-benf.html.
