All J-1 Categories (e.g., J-1 student, J-1 professor, J-1 researcher, J-1 short-term scholar, etc.): Certain payments, including honoraria, and fellowships and scholarships only permitted when authorized in advance by the individual's J-1 Program Sponsor, as noted on the Form DS-2019 or by letter from sponsoring institution.
