The Yale University Shuttle provides transportation between the University, the East Rock neighborhood and the New Haven train stations for students, faculty and staff. This FREE service runs year-round with the exception of the following University Holidays: New Years Eve, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and the following Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Service to the Yale Community includes: daytime routes, nighttime routes (formerly called the "minibus"); Yale New Haven Hospital Shuttle, VA Hospital Shuttle and the Special Services Shuttle.

Orange Daytime Shuttle Route Change:

The Orange Daytime Shuttles will now remain on Prospect Street, heading North all the way to Edwards Street--at which point they turn right down Edwards and then left on Whitney. They will no longer turn right onto Sachem.

As always, please watch the Shuttles in real time for the best information.

VA Shuttle schedule change:

The VA Shuttle will now be running every 20 minutes during peaks times, 6AM - 10AM and 2PM - 6:30PM, and every 15 minutes during mid day, 10AM - 2PM. To view the new schedule visit the VA Shuttle page.

Shuttle Emergency Email Notification

Yale Transit has developed an email emergency notification system for sending service disruption notices. Shuttle riders are encouraged to sign up to receive email notification here. Visit http://yale.transloc.com/ for up to date route and service information.

Governor Rell, and State Agencies Launch Statewide Public Awareness Campaign

Transit Riders, General Public Encouraged: ‘If You See Something, Say Something’

Governor M. Jodi Rell announced the start of an aggressive, statewide security awareness campaign urging residents – including users of public transportation – to be alert and prepared to report suspicious activity. The campaign aims to empower people to monitor their own environment for suspicious objects or behavior on trains or buses, stations and other public places. The state Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security operates a 24-hour homeland security tip line, (866) HLS-TIPS.

Biodiesel

The Yale Shuttle runs on an Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) and biodiesel fuel blend. For more information on alternative fuels at Yale, click here.
