I. Current Event – Nikki Oakman (If want to do current event or a current event to be covered, let Nikki know)
- UNICEF in Mexico started Gifts from the Heart program, educating Mexicans about human rights, had kickoff for campaign with famous people
- Large issues: child labor, chronic malnutrition, education, violence in schools and homes against children (28% 6-9 yr olds reported violence at home)
II. HeadStart
- Sign-up: available times now are T and Th 8:30-9:30
- Berkeley Orchestra members going to bring instruments
- Bring plastic bottles for making instruments with beans/rice
III. Trick-or-Treat
- School presentations
- Dropping off boxes at restaurants – Jess will organize
- Brochures, table tents – Pam
IV. Trip to Africa
