Pioneer Council
We have established a “Pioneer Council” to provide advice on all matters of concern to the West Campus community. The Council, chaired by Professor Janie Merkel, meets once a month and consists of a representative from each unit located on the West Campus. This group serves as a sounding board for any and all issues related to work and life on the West Campus and as a conduit between the residents of the West Campus and the West Campus Administration. The Council identifies issues in need of attention and advises on best practices, but also generates new ideas about how we should proceed as we grow the campus and stimulate social interactions across the campus.
Members are appointed by the West Campus Vice President of Planning and Program Development and serve for a two-year period.
