Introducing the Board of WLI

Ming Min Hui

President

Ming Min Hui is a junior in Davenport College majoring in English. She is currently president of the Women's Leadership Initiative and has served on the boards of 85 Boards, the Asian American Students Alliance, Dimensions Art Magazine, and the Yale Herald. In her spare time, Ming dances with Groove Dance Company and blogs for GirlyBubble.com.

 

Joanna

Co-Chair of Mentorship

Joanna Da Lu is a sophomore in Ezra Stiles College majoring in Economics and Anthropology. As Co-Chair of Mentorship of WLI, she wishes to create a cohesive and welcoming community of female leaders at Yale for networking, educational, and friendship purposes. Since she loves being busy, she is heavily involved in various organizations on campus, including Maya, YCouture, stYle Magazine, YDN Business, SWS, Pi Beta Phi, and Stiles IMs, but in her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading fashion and food blogs, and playing tennis and swimming.

 

Julia

Co-Chair of Mentorship

Julia Mailander is a junior Political Science major in Davenport College. She is Co-Chair of Mentorship and is workign to build the connections within the WLI organization. Outside of WLI, she is the captain of the Varsity Volleyball team, engages in volunteering with TIES and Rotoract, and enjoys many other random experiences.

 

Lauren

Chair of Business

Lauren Noble is a sophomore in Pierson College majoring in History. She is the Chair of Business for WLI. She also rides for the Equestrian Team and is a member of the Conservative Party, a philosophical debating society.

 

Meng Jia

Chair of Alumnae

Meng Jia Yang is a freshman in Pierson College majoring in Economics. When she's not spending time with the great women of WLI, she's debating for Yale and developing curriculum for the Urban Debate League.

 

Chair of Outreach

Merlyn Deng is a sophomore in Saybrook College majoring in Economics. When she's not blogging and doing outreach for WLI, she spends her time working on bringing youth together to lead educational initiatives in Sichuan, China. She also is working on developing a biology trading card game. In her free time, she likes reading Wikipedia, listening to Shades, learning about Chinese legal reform, taking bad pictures with her Nikon, and eating Greek yogurt.

 

Chair of Publicity

Yena Lee is currently a freshman in Saybrook. Besides WLI, she is involved in Mock Trial, Logos Magazine, and Women and Youth Supporting Each Other. She is also a voracious eater and Lupe Fiasco aficionado.

 

Stephanie

Co-Chair of Speakers

Stephanie Marton is a sophomore in Morse, and a Cognitive Science major with a focus in reasoning and decision making. Her academic interests include Behavioral Finance and Neuroeconomics. At Yale, she works for MAYA consulting, dances with the Yale Irish Step Dancers, plays club squash and leads FOOT trips. She hopes to pursue a professional career in business, and is especially interested in entrepreneurship. She spent last summer working for the Center for Women and Enterprise, a female entrepreneur resource base in Boston.

 

Jackie

Co-Chair of Speakers

Jackie Delligatti is a Sophomore in Silliman College. She is a Political Science and Italian Language and Literature double major. Outside of WLI, she serves on the Executive Board of the Yale Mock Trial Association, is a writer for the Yale Politic, serves as Secretary for Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and tutors in a New Haven elementary school. She works as an Italian Translator for a small business in New Haven and is interested in pursing non profit work and/or criminal defense law after graduating.

 

Sunhee

Co-Chair of Conference

Sunhee Serenity Kim is a sophomore in Morse majoring in MB&B. In addition to her work on WLI's Leadership Conference, Sunhee is interested in pursuing a career in biotech, research, public health, or non-profits. She conducts research in cellular biology in her spare time. Her hobbies are storytelling, writing, reading the Times, watching TED, and yoga.

 

Natalie

Co-Chair of Conference

Natalie Kotkin is a sophomore in Trumbull College double majoring in French and International Studies. She is the Co-Chair of Conference, a role in which she will plan a "Women in Leadership" conference for Yale undergraduates and alumnae in November 2009. Outside of WLI, she is very involved in the Yale International Relations Association, tutors New haven schoolers through Girl-Empowered Mentoring and makes delicious late-night food in the Trumbull buttery.

 

Creating a culture that encourages and empowers aspiring female leaders at Yale.
