July 2014 -- The Yale Jazz Ensemble will be on leave for 2014-15. We have no bandroom for the duration of the Hendrie Hall renovations (taking place now through 2016). However, Yale Bands are producing several jazz events, some of which will be able to accommodate talented undergraduate jazz musicians. The Yale Bands is bringing the amazing jazz harpist (yes, harpist...) Edmar Castaneda to campus September 20, and will be presenting a holiday concert on December 3 -- Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn's arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. (There will be October auditions for places in that ensemble). In January, there will be audiitons for the March 1st annual Stan Wheeler Memorial Jazz Concert in the Yale Law School.
Information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.
