Make an Appointment

To make an appointment about a fellowship you have already won through CIPE, please call 203-432-8685.

Otherwise, in order to make an appointment with a fellowship adviser, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Attend an information session to obtain answers to many of your questions.
Note: Students who arrive late or who leave early from an information session will not receive credit for attending. Except for those off-campus this semester, attendance at an information session is required before booking an advising appointment.
  2. Join our listserv to stay up to date with Fellowship Programs, including the dates and times of additional information sessions.
  3. Utilize the Student Grants Database and Fellowships by Class Year to search for fellowship opportunities. Read about Fulbright, CIPE Year-long Fellowships, and/or UK & Irish Fellowships before making an appointment.
  4. Review online resources to help prepare your application.

  1. Make an appointment:
    • Are you applying for a fellowship through our office? (With the exception of UK fellowships, appointments with Fellowships advisers may only be made to discuss fellowships for which you must apply through our office. Not sure? Check one of our handouts of fellowships by class year.)
      • Before making an appointment, click on one of the following to fill out and email the questionnaire to
      • You may then call to schedule an appointment (203-432-8685).
      • Be sure to send in your resume and any drafts you hope to discuss at least 48 hours before your appointment time.
    • If you are NOT applying for a fellowship through our office, while you may not make an appointment to meet with an adviser, our info sessions, workshops, online application advice and other resources should still be helpful. In addition:
    • If you are applying for a fellowship through another Yale office, please contact that office with any questions you may have: they'll be able to give you the best advice about their fellowships. (Most Student Grants Database entries should have contact information.)

Make the most of your time and limited advising hours by preparing to bring specific questions and proposal drafts to your advising appointment.
