Adding pre-made tabs to your portal layout

The basic "Add a Tab" feature adds a new blank page to your portal layout. However, you can also add "pre-made" tabs that bring in a page of new information features.

First, be sure you are logged into the YaleInfo portal.

To add a "pre-made" tab to your YaleInfo layout, click the "Add a Tab" link at the top right of any YaleInfo page.

Add a Tab link.

You will see a dialog box listing your options. Click the "Pre-made" tab in the box if it is not already selected. Click the "Apply" button once you have made a selection from the "Tab" list.

Add a Tab dialog box.

You can control the ordering of your tabs, or delete a tab, by using the pop-up controls on the tab. Click to the tab you want to control, then move your cursor over the tab to see the pop-up controls.

Currently your "pre-made" options are to add the Faculty, Staff, or Student views of the portal to your layout. This is handy, because some staff need access to "faculty" tools, and vice versa. This one-step process allows you to add everything that comes with each audience view, so you can see exactly what a staff ember, faculty member, or student might see in their versions of the YaleInfo portal.
