Music 325a: Final Project, Individual or Collaborative

Proposal Submission Document

DUE Tuesday, Oct. 7

Type up a 1 to 1 1/2 page document proposing your final project for Music 325a. Joint projects should be submitted as a single proposal. E-mail your Final Project Proposal as an rtf document directly to Prof. K at (michael.klingbeil@yale.edu) by the specified deadline.

Your Final Project Proposal Submission is worth 5% of your final grade for Music 325a.

Your document must be written in clear complete sentences with proper attention to grammar and mechanics. Your document must include the following:

  1. Title of your final project
  2. General Aesthetic Interests and Conceptual Approaches

    Describe your general aesthetic interests and conceptual approaches for your final project. What musical and/or visual source materials will you use? Will your project employ a single, specific genre type or a hybrid of different genres? Are there particular works the have been influential in shaping your aesthetic preferences?

  3. Software, Hardware, and Data types

    What software programs will you employ? Which controllers and/or input devices will you use? What types of data will you employ? What overall technical goals do you have for your project? Hint: browse through the assigned readings for Music 325a.

  4. Creative Aims

    Describe the specific implications of combining your aesthetic interests, conceptual approaches, and technical goals.
