Music 390b: MidTerm Performance Group Project

Guidelines

I. Plan your MidTerm Performance Group Project

II. Work on your MidTerm Performance Group Project in class/lab as designated.

III. Specific Requirements for the MidTerm Performance Group Project

  1. Use of the following source clips and data types.
  2. Use of the two MidTerm project files.
  3. Use of the three external controllers.
  4. Full realization of the five performance roles as delineated in the MAX/MSP/Jitter project file: 390bMidTermMasterPatch.
  5. Impressive execution of your pre-planned, carefully-structured, and well-rehearsed MidTerm Performance Group Project.
  6. Time requirement: 4:00 to 6:00 minutes in length.

IV. Submit your MidTerm Performance Group Project Proposal the week of Tuesday, Feb. 12th.

V. Present your MidTerm Performance Group Project WIP Report 2/19, 2/20 or 2/21 at your Lab.

Your presentation must include:
  1. An overview of your aesthetic and conceptual approaches to your MidTerm Performance Group Project.
  2. A summary of your progress working on your MidTerm Performance Group Project.
  3. A data CD-R or DVD-R of your original audio and visual source material that was created, then processed, and finally implemented with the 390bMasterMidTermRack.rns and prepared for your MidTerm Performance Group Project.

VI. Perform your finished MidTerm Performance Group Project for Dr. A the week of Feb. 25th.

Present a complete, carefully-structured, and well-rehearsed performance of your MidTerm Performance Group Project.

VII. Perform your finished MidTerm Performance Group Project for class on Tuesday, Mar. 4th.

Present a complete, carefully-structured, and well-rehearsed performance of your MidTerm Performance Group Project.

VIII. Submit your finished MidTerm Performance Group Project Materials on Tuesday, Mar. 4th.

Your final submission of materials must include:
  1. A final essay describing your finished MidTerm Performance Group Project results included as an .rtf document on your data CD-R or DVD-R.
  2. A data CD-R or DVD-R with ALL of your various project materials archived on it, and, that’s fully functional!
  3. Submit to Dr. A on Tuesday, Mar. 4th.
