arth: south asian american theater
Please join us  Thursday, April 20, at 8:00 p.m. at the Whiney Humanities Center (53 Wall Street, New Haven, CT) for a performance by the South Asian American theater group Arth.

Arth is a South Asian American theater group from the Bay Area that focuses on exploring social issues relevant to the South Asian American community through theater.  Arth (signifying meaning), through sketches, poetry, improvisations and monologues, attempts to give a voice to the concerns, queries and confusion of today's South Asian young diasporic community, undoubtedly American by location, language and behavior, but inescapably South Asian, by socialization, value system and legacy.

The opportunity presented to Yale students through this performance is both novel and exciting.  The mode of communication is very new in expression of South Asian American identity, and the issues engaged in the performance pertain to individuals and the community as a whole.

Tickets are $2 for students, and $5 for adults. Please contact Shivan Mehta (203 436-3293) for more information or to reserve tickets..
