Founders of YANIS
Zaruhi Sahakyan
 |
| Zaruhi was born in Yerevan, Armenia. She graduated from the Economics Department of Yerevan State University (YSU)
with diploma of academic excellence in 1999 and in the same year was admitted to the Ph.D program at YSU. During her undergraduate
studies Zaruhi was the vice president of AIESEC, an international student organization for students in economics and management,
which operates in more than 700 universities worldwide. In 2000 she was awarded Edmund Muskie Freedom Support Act Graduate Fellowship
for continuing her studies in the USA. In 2001 May graduated from Yale University with a M.A. in International and Development Economics.
Participated and facilitated many conferences and seminars on leadership development, mediation and conflict resolution in the US and Europe.
Zaruhi Sahakyan is one of YANIS initiators. Currently she works as a research assistant at the Economics Department and is the treasurer of YANIS.
Her dream is to see YANIS branches in every major US university. |
Denis Lazarev  |
| I was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1973. I moved to US in 1989, and now I am a US citizen. I earned my bachelor's degree in the
Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore Maryland, and currently I am working on my PhD in the Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry in Yale
University. Ultimately I would like to become a professor at Yale, or Columbia University. |
Eugenia Busygina  |
| Eugenia Busygina (Russia) graduated from Vladivostok Institute of International Relations (VIMO) in 1997 with a major in
Political Science. After 3,5 years of work in foreign affairs, she is concentrated on her studies in conflict analysis and resolution.
Currently working on her PhD in Political theory at VIMO and MA in International Relations at YCIAS at Yale University, she is also
involved with the UN Studies at Yale project on Political Economy of Civil War. Future plans include finishing PhD, work for an international
organization and teaching. Some of the hobbies are travel, tennis, karate and languages. |
Dmytro Glazkov  |
| Dmytro was born in Kharkov, Ukraine in 1978. He graduated from Kharkov State Polytechnic University (KSPU) with Bachelor degree
and has a second degree in Computer Programming from inter-branch of KSPU. In 2000 Dmytro received scholarship from Soros foundation
"Open Society Institute" and was accepted to School of Forestry & Environmental Studies at Yale University. Currently he is a candidate for
a Master Degree in Environmental Management and with a concentration in Environmental Policy issues and International Environmental Law. |
Boriss Kulman  |
| Born in Tallinn, Estonia on Sep.17,1978. He came to the USA as international student in Dec, 1996. Graduated from Wayne State
University, Detroit, Michigan in Dec, 1999 with a B.S. (summa cum laude) in Computer Science. Admitted to Yale Graduate School in spring
of 2000. Graduated from Yale University in May, 2001 with a M.S. in Computer Science. Personal interests include: music, literature,
philosophy, sciences, computers, meeting people from around the globe. Currently works for software company in Brewster, NY. Part-time
YANIS webmaster and mailing list moderator. His future plans include making this world a better place, and making a million bucks. |
