Toya joined Yale University in November of 2007 as a Financial Assistant for the Shared Science Service Branch (SSSB).  For the first year, she served as a Financial Assistant for the SSSB and as an Administrative Assistant of travel for Professor Michael Snyder in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology.

She then worked as a floater to assist in the various departments on Science Hill when needed, and enjoyed each of these experiences tremendously.

The Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies is one of the departments that she assisted and found it to be a very interesting area. As a result, its Director Jeffrey Park and Assistant Director Rose Rita Riccitelli invited her to join their staff, which offers her a great opportunity to work together with them as a team.

In June, 2010, Toya also took on duties for the Environmental Studies Program in Yale College, which is also under the YIBS organization.
