Chants and Carols
The Yale Russian Chorus' latest CD was released internationally in 1996 to great acclaim. Through contrasting selections, the CD emphasizes the meditative and prayerful qualities of Orthodox liturgical and paraliturgical music. The New York Times placed the CD on their critic's choice list, as did Performance Today and Billboard Magazine, among others. A reviewer from InTune Magazine wrote: "[Chants and Carols is] an eye-bulging work of art...in balance, timbre, and intonation, the 20-member...choir is stunning."
Through a collaboration with Epiphany Recordings, record stores around the world have sold Chants and Carols. It is the first CD we have recorded under director Mark Bailey, and the first YRC album a professional record company has produced.
